Yin and Meditation:
Yin Yoga is designed to target the deeper connective tissues of the body through passively holding postures a little longer. Being in the posture for a longer period of time allows the ligaments, bones, and joints to enhance flexibility, range of motion, and also stimulates the energy flow (prana/chi) throughout the body. Focus is more on the fascia / connective tissues of the body rather than on the muscles.
We combine Yin Yoga postures with positive affirmations to ease mind chatter and allow for Stillness. Incorporating after Savasana a 5-minute Silent Meditation to further encourage a deeper stillness or universal connection.
A slow, deep practice that targets the hips and spine and helps to release and lengthen the body's deep connective tissues. Combining longer held Yin postures with yogic breathing helps to stimulate the meridian system, releasing energy blockages in the physical and emotional bodies. Yin yoga is a deeply meditative yet revitalizing practice, and is an excellent complement to other styles of yoga. Beginners always welcome.
